Plantation Shutters

There are many benefits of why our customers choose shutters over conventional window coverings, see below:

Plantation Shutters offer:

Diversity

With a diverse range of shutter installations, colours and frame styles, we think that you will struggle to find a single window covering that offers the same flexibility as our internal plantation shutters. For more information on our installation styles – click here

Privacy and total light control

Shutters unlike other window coverings allow your window to be sub-divided into separate sections that each can be individually controlled unlike curtain which are either drawn or closed or blind that are either raised or lowered. Adding a privacy rail splits your shutter panel into two individually operated shutter sections allowing all your shutter panels to be operated individually. Particularly suitable for on-street locations, eye-level shutters sections can be closed for privacy and upper panels left open to maximise the light

Sound insulation

Adding an additional barrier to your windows, our bespoke wooden shutters provide an extra layer of sound insulation, making them even more desirable for city life

Thermal insulation

Shutters provide an economic covering for your window. The additional layer of wood helps keep the warmth in during the winter and unwanted heat out during the summer. They can be opened fully to warm up a room if desired

Low maintenance and hygienic window solution

Unlike dusty curtains, shutters are quick and easy to clean and offer a virtually maintenance free existence and perfect for allergies.

For commercial use we can even offer a Hygienic anti-bacterial (Hygienilac) coating on our Shutters and Blinds, making our product even more suitable for hospital, care homes, surgeries and nursery installations.

This is the first wood lacquer available in the UK that kills most species of bacteria, including the deadly MRSA, salmonella and E.coli, and it goes on killing them for the lifetime of the lacquer – as long as 10 years! The coating is already used in NHS hospitals and prevents the bacteria’s access to nutrients so they starve and die.

It has a kill rate of 99.9% over a 24 hr period and has been approved by the FDA, HSE EPA – and is BS6250 certified. What bacteria does it work against? Staphylococcus aureus Methicillin- Resistant Strain (MRSA); Listeria monocytogenes; Clostridium difficile; staphylococcus aureus; salmonella enteriditis; klebsiella pneumoniae; aspergillus niger; pseudomonas aeruginosa; penicillium purpurogenum; bacillus cereus; saccharmyces cerevisiae; Escherichia coli

Investment

With an increase in popularity shutters are quickly becoming the must-have window dressing and because they are a permanent fixture, they even help to add to the desirability of a property for re-sale
